Everyone is welcome!

Our 2020 Teen Advisory Council currently has 17 members. Ranging from 9th-12th grade, our TAC members represent area public and private high schools as well homeshoolers in South Lake County. Each TAC member serves the organization by informing our program development, assisting with execution of the plans and acting as an ambassador for Thrive Clermont at community events. All while earning community service hours! Our 2020 TAC is busy with the following initiatives:

Summer PopUps – working alongside our Adult Volunteers to produce our fourth summer of our most popular program.  Volunteer responsibilities include all aspects of coordination required to manage the many activity leaders, venues and inkind donations needed to make this program possible.

Alive ‘n Thrivin - Members interested in communication and publishing get to enhance their writing skills by contributing to Thrive Clermont's monthly newsletter which aims to connect both teens and adults to the local community. Students are afforded the opportunity to provide input and write articles for Teen Talk, a special section within the Alive 'n Thrivin monthly newsletter designed by teens for teens.

Community Outreach – TAC members get public speaking experience by participating in presentations on our innovative teen programs to groups such as Kiwanis Club, City of Groveland City Council, Clermont City Council, South Lake Business Leaders, Lake Rising Podcast, and more.

Applications for new TAC members are accepted twice a year. TAC members must be able to make a 6 month commitment to work on one or more initiatives.
